Clubs circle for Wolves striker

A number of clubs are circling for Fabio Silva’s signature this summer as Wolves work on offloading the striker.

The club have already rejected a loan offer with an option to buy from Italian club Genoa, as the fee and conditions of the loan did not match Wolves’ valuation.

Wolves are keen on a permanent move for Silva this summer, in order to recoup as much as possible of the £35million they spent on him in 2020.

They would also accept a loan move with an obligation to buy Silva next summer, if their value for the striker is met.

Wolves are less keen on a loan with an option to buy the Portuguese forward, but they would be willing to negotiate over a deal of this nature if a substantial loan fee was paid and Silva’s wages were covered for the full season.

Silva is still under contract with Wolves until 2026, while the club has an option to extend that by a further year.

The 22-year-old, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Scottish side Rangers, has no future at Wolves after being omitted from the pre-season tours of Spain and America.

He has also not been training at Compton as all parties work on a move away.

It is understood Spanish sides Valencia and Las Palmas, as well as German top flight club Wolfsburg, are also interested in striking a deal for Silva.

Reports have also suggested that Werder Bremen and Real Betis have made tentative enquiries as a number of clubs chase his signature.
