'Bright future' for Wolves' Jordan Graham

Wolves boss Kenny Jackett believes debut star Jordan Graham has a 'bright future' at the club – and thinks his team are close to a winning run.

The 20-year-old former Villa youngster was finally given a chance to impress on the left wing as Wolves twice came from behind to draw 2-2 at Ipswich Town.

And he certainly took that chance, with a promising debut in gold and black.

Graham recently spent time at League Two side Oxford United, where he deeply impressed U's boss Michael Appleton.

Jackett will now want Graham to continue where he left off at Portman Road, saying: "Jordan did well and had a good debut.

"He's only just 20. If he keeps his feet on the floor and working hard, then the talent he has will show.

"He's one of a number of good young players at the club and he has a bright future."

Wolves face Milton Keynes Dons next weekend at the start of a run of games that look, on paper, to be winnable.

Jackett's team have won just one of their last seven – but thinks they are 'close' to turning their improved performances into results.

He said: "We are one of the clubs now fighting to stay in touch. We want to be up and around those play-off spots, that's our ambition.

"We are a bit off it points-wise at the moment but the gap can be made up. We have to work hard to try to do that.

"We're close and while it's a good point, it's an overall run where we want to be doing better. We need to find that consistency."

After the defensive solidity of recent weeks in which they conceded just one in three matches, Wolves looked open at the back.

Ipswich scored twice, but created enough clear-cut chances to have netted, at least, three more.

Jackett expressed concern at how easily Ipswich were able to fashion those opportunities.

He added: "There is some inconsistency in us, even within games, and a lot of soft goals conceded.

"Those mistakes which are costing us need to be ironed out because being able to win games on a regular basis breeds confidence.

"That will help us achieve what we want to achieve, which is to climb the table. The goals against column again is poor again and we need to improve on that."
