A bid or not a bid . . ?
So has Graeme Souness bid £20 million for Wolves or not, asks our blogger Andy Toft? The Liverpool great says he has. Molineux chief executive Jez Moxey says he hasn't.
The truth is out there somewhere but for fans and those of us in the media it is difficult to locate amid the fog of spin which so regularly descends around football stories.

In a phone conversation with our Chief Sports Writer, Martin Swain, Souness insisted he had spoken to both Sir Jack Hayward and Moxey. The club denied there were any negotiations.
The whole thing seems to be a question of semantics - one man's informal chat is another's statement of intent - something I don't want to get caught up in here.
What is clear is that Souness's interest in Wolves is very real. When Martin left a message on Souness's answerphone yesterday the former Rangers and Liverpool boss was under no obligations to call him back.
I know from experience football people rarely go out of their way to return journalists' calls unless they have something to say. The fact that he was on the phone to Martin with precious little delay speaks volumes.
And his words in yesterday¹s Express & Star could not have been less ambiguous: "I have offered to buy Wolves for £20 million."
But, for whatever reason, Souness faces a battle to convince Wolves he is serious.
On one hand Moxey's dismissive response to the story left many unsure what to believe. On another it underlined the fact that Souness, for all his interest, is some distance away from having a bid considered, let alone accepted.

YOUR COMMENTS:
* Surely the only way to solve the questions you correctly raise, Andy, is to start digging away to get some proper answers. The club takes a terrible attitude towards communicating with the fans on substantial matters so it is up to the journalists to clarify things. Good luck in doing that, I certainly think the E&S made a good start yesterday but it needs following up.
