Towards the end of the draw, the ball went into the opposition technical area and with the Hull staff and boss Nigel Adkins taking their time to retrieve it the ball boy took matters into his own hands.

The youngster appeared to push a Hull staff member to get to the ball, threw it back onto the pitch and then aimed a 'number one' finger in the bench's direction.

His actions earned the wild acclaim of the Molineux crowd – but officials were less than impressed and the ball boy was ordered to leave pitchside.

He did so unescorted and was seen giving high fives to fans at the front of the Stan Cullis stand.

A petition was launched to 'reinstate' the ball boy, reportedly named as Tom Aitchison, after claims he'd been 'sacked'.

However managing director Laurie Dalrymple said no action was being taken against the ball boy.
