"Let’s believe" - Ladislav Krejci fires FA Cup warning to Liverpool after Molineux stunner

They welcome the Reds again on Friday in the FA Cup fifth round, and Krejci says the competition carries huge importance for Wolves in what has been a testing campaign.

Asked about the significance of the cup, he said: “Yes, big. It's a competition with a lot of history. 

“The sky is the limit, so let's believe. Let's go into the next game like this. You never know what can happen.”

Krejci played a key role in Rob Edwards’ side’s resilient defensive display against Liverpool in midweek, when Andre netted a stoppage-time winner.

Wolves are hoping to reach the FA Cup quarter-finals for the third time in more than 23 years.

Krejci is wary that while the Old Gold can take confidence from their win over Arne Slot’s side, the Reds will have learned lessons and will be determined to respond.

“We're learning a lot during the last games and weeks, not only from this one,” the 26-year-old added. 

“But, of course, it gives us some picture of what we can expect in the next game. 

“But it will be much harder, because they also know our system. So, they will try to find the new things where we struggle a little bit.

“We need to find our things. We're looking forward to it.”

He added: “We will go into the next game with the same mindset like this, and we will live.”

Wolves had just 34 per cent possession against Liverpool midweek, registering four shots to the Reds’ 19. But they made their chances count in the second-half to secure another impressive victory at Molineux.

The defence came under intense pressure but stood firm - something Krejci admitted was a huge test of both concentration and energy.

The Czech added: “Of course. All 90 minutes - all 97 - because many times everybody remembers we lost many games in the last minutes, and now finally it's switched and we get from there something. 

“We're working very hard and waiting for the situations. 

“We know that we will not overplay everyone for 90 minutes, but with the right mentality and the right job, we can wait for our moments and make this.”
