Dave Edwards: A picture perfect Wolves performance for all at Molineux to enjoy

What an unbelievable way for Wolves to bounce back after that disappointing night at Portman Road.

Everything they did was pretty much perfection. From the game plan, the tactics involved and then the players carrying out those tactics, it was a joy to watch.

You could see Man City getting frustrated right from the first whistle. Wolves were defending deep and narrow and there were no gaps between the units.

Man City kept probing but once they got around the box, there was a sea of gold shirts around the ball.

The concentration needed from the players would have been huge. I’ve been in games like that where the opposition are waiting for you to switch off, and it takes it’s toll mentally and physically, but the players were fabulous.

You also have to give a huge amount of credit to Gary O’Neil, because he set the team up in that way. He opted for a back five and to keep some pace on the counter-attack, and it’s important to always maintain some threat when you play Man City.
