Steve Bull: Wolves have had a shot in the arm from Doc - now more needed

It’s nice to see some Wolves signings finally coming in.

I was getting a bit worried to be honest, like everyone else, hoping that the squad isn’t left with the bare bones.

The deals are starting to come through and Wolves are starting to go in the right direction. The more the merrier!

Matt Doherty’s signing is done and, for me, it’s spot on. He played well for the club when he was here, an outstanding player, and he chipped in with loads of goals.

With the amount of goals Wolves scored last season, his addition will be very welcome if he can chip in with five or six more over the season.

The club has also been in talks to sign Aaron Cresswell and I suppose we’ll have to wait and see because there will be lots of names floating around in the next few weeks.

What we definitely need is at least a couple more players coming in a week or two before the season starts.

If Cresswell came in and it meant Ryan Giles left on loan, I wouldn’t really be disappointed.

He’s a young lad who has time on his side. If his heart is at Wolves, he’ll end up playing here eventually, he just needs to be patient.

I’m sure he’d rather get minutes on the field rather than sitting on the bench every week, so another loan would be good for him and if he grows with that experience we can bring him back.

If they sold him instead of loaning him, I would back the club to know who they do and don’t need.

Julen wants his own side and it’s starting to take shape. The board now need to give him what they can to keep Wolves moving up the league.

Alex Scott is one that has excited everyone and he could be just what the team needs, but I also think the squad needs a bit more experience.

Last year we had Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves in midfield, and by throwing young, inexperienced players in there it can be daunting.

I would like to see a bit more experience in the middle of the park. Mario Lemina, Matheus Nunes and Joao Gomes would be my three starters, but you need to strengthen that with a bit more experience.

The younger players can learn from that experience. You need the older head to keep everyone in check.

Overall, I hope they strengthen in defence, bring in a midfielder and hopefully a striker as well.

I’m looking forward to seeing Sasa Kalajdzic, as well as Raul Jimenez and Matheus Cunha. If Raul stays at the club, it could give him the boost to show us what we all know he can do.

I think Raul and Cunha could be a real force together, but we need some clarity on Raul’s situation.

If he stays, I’m backing him all day long. He lost a bit of his spark last season but now he’s had some pre-season minutes and he’s a good striker that needs some service. He could be a good asset to the team.

On Fabio Silva, I’m not sure if he’s Premier League ready. It’s a tough question. He did alright for us before, but he wasn’t spectacular.

He needs the service too, all our strikers have been starved of it. But I would bring him back as more competition can only be a good thing for the squad.
