Wolves are open to offers for Jonny Castro Otto amid talks to sign Matt Doherty, the Express & Star understands.
Despite starting his Wolves career on the left flank, Jonny has often been utilised at right-back over the last two seasons.
The club are in the market for a new right-back and have opened talks with former player Doherty over a return to Molineux as a free agent.
As a result, it is expected that Jonny’s time at Wolves will come to an end this summer.
Wolves also have plenty of options at left-back, meaning Jonny is expected to be surplus to requirements.
However, the 29-year-old has two years left on his contract and any departure is likely to be dependent on a club coming in for the defender.
Jonny initially joined Wolves on loan from Atletico Madrid in 2018 before signing permanently after one season.
He was a key member of the successful side under Nuno Espirito Santo that saw Wolves march into the Europa League.
However, he then suffered back-to-back anterior cruciate ligament injuries to the same knee and has struggled to regain his form since.
He played 23 times in all competitions last season but after being sent off against Leeds on March 18 he did not play a single minute until the end of the campaign and was omitted from the squad for the final 10 games.
