Wolves winger Chiquinho to have surgery for ACL injury
Wolves winger Chiquinho has been dealt a devastating blow by suffering an anterior cruciate ligament to his knee in a pre-season friendly.
The 22-year-old scored in Wolves' 3-0 win over Burnley in the behind closed doors game at Compton on Saturday.
After his goal, the Portuguese forward was running on to a through ball when he collided with a Burnley defender and suffered the serious ACL injury to his knee.
It is believed that the Wolves coaching staff were disappointed with the challenge that led to the injury, which is believed to have been made by a young Burnley defender.
The Express & Star understands Chiquinho will undergo surgery next week and is likely to be sidelined for at least six months.
