Wolves boss Nuno waiting on Vitinha decision

Nuno Espirito Santo says Wolves midfielder Vitinha is ‘full of talent’ – but is not yet thinking about buying him or their other loan players.

The 20-year-old will be hoping for a chance to impress against Southampton in the FA Cup tomorrow night, having scored a wonderful winner at Chorley in the previous round.

Nuno has been pleased with the progress of the Portuguese playmaker too, although his game time has been fairly limited so far – making four starts across all competitions.

“We are pleased with Vitor. He’s a young player, but full of talent and quality,” said Nuno.

“He has a lot of things to improve on his game, in terms of physicality and duels – the aspects which normally require a time of adaptation. But the talent is there. He’s a good option who in the right moments can be helpful.

“He scored a fantastic goal (at Chorley), and he gave us so much in the game besides his goal. The way he worked, he kept the ball and his composure was really good to see.”

Wolves could make Vitinha’s stay at Molineux permanent in the summer. Currently on loan from Porto, they have an £18million option to buy.

They also have options attached to the deals of Willian Jose and Rayan Ait-Nouri, at £22m and £20m respectively.

But Nuno is not dwelling on any of those at the moment.

“We have to decide, but the first issue is that when we decide they will join, it is because we realise and see – on all the players you mention and more – that they can help and be good solutions for the team,” he added.

“This was the first and only main objective. Of course, they are different, but now is not the moment to think about that.

“Now is the moment to improve each and every one of our players because this is what we want.”
