Wolves send under-23s duo to Switzerland and Croatia

Wolves have loaned under-23s pair Ed Francis and Hong Wan out to teams in Switzerland and Croatia respectively.

Francis, who had regularly donned the captain’s armband and went on the first team’s pre-season tour of China, has joined Grasshoppers until the end of the season.

The side from Zurich are currently fourth in the Swiss second tier.

Hong, meanwhile, has gone to Croatian top-flight outfit NK Varazdin – also until the end of the campaign.

Their loans come after James Collins’ under-23s lost 2-1 to Liverpool on Monday night.

The game was played at England’s St George’s Park training base, and the Reds took the lead shortly into the second period through Joe Hardy.

Chem Campbell levelled things up for Wolves with a calmly-taken penalty.

However, after Renat Dadashov had a shot rattle the woodwork, Liverpool scored late to win it – Jake Cain hammering home.

Wolves are bottom of the PL2 Division One table, having lost five on the spin.
