The teammates of club captain Danny Batth have made the generous donations so the defender can raise money for his new foundation.

Among the table-topping stars whose boots will be auctioned off include fullback Matt Doherty, midfielder Alfred N’Diaye as well as Batth.

Leo Bonatini and Doherty have each passed on a pair of boots that haven’t been worn during matches.

While midfielder Neves sported the boots he’s donating in the game at Hull away earlier this season – when he notched his first goal in old gold in the top corner from 30 yards out.

All of the boots have been signed and the money raised will go towards Foundation DB, which was launched by 27-year-old Batth last year. The projects aims to raise money for people who are already trying to better their lives or the lives of others but need extra support.

Danny Batth launches Foundation DB

Batth said: “Last year, with my partner Natalie, I launched my charity, Foundation DB, which is raising money for three charities which are very close to my heart. With the charity now and up and running the plan for this year is to really step up our both the fundraising and also promoting the excellent work which these charities carry out.

“The lads in the dressing room have been really supportive of what I am doing, and have kindly passed on some of their signed boots which we are now auctioning off to raise money for the foundation.

“These boots are real collectors items which will hopefully raise a good amount, with all the proceeds being shared between the three fantastic causes.

“I am also very grateful to the support I have received from Wolves fans since the foundation’s launch, and over the coming months will be planning further activities which will give opportunities for supporters themselves to get involved and help us if they wish.”

Dave Miles, who is known locally as ‘Dave the Frame’ from his work at Creative Framing in Chapel Ash, is helping Batth with the auction of the boots as well as donating some of his own framed memorabilia to add to the fundraising.

He will frame all of the boots free of charge for the winners if they want.

Batth's project supports three local and national charities – including Football For Peace, which breaks down barriers and ideology within communities through sport to create better futures for young people in the West Midlands and homeless charity YMCA Black Country and Yuwa India, which uses sport to keep vulnerable girls out of child marriage and provides protection from human trafficking, will also benefit from the sale.

A host of fundraising initiatives and events have already taken place to race money for the DB Foundation.

Controversial boxer Tyson Fury, known as ‘the Gypsy King’, held a question and answer session at the Ramada Park Hotel in Wolverhampton to help raise funds for the skipper’s foundation.

The charity was launched by Brierley Hill-born Batth, who has been at Wolves since he was just 10-years-old, back in August last year.

Bids can be made by private messaging Dave on Twitter @davetheframe, calling Creative Framing during office hours on 01902 429030, or popping into the office in Chapel Ash.
