Wolves eye up Middlesbrough's Adam Reach

Wolves are set to make a move for Middlesbrough man Adam Reach, it is believed.

Reach starred for Preston on loan in the Championship last season and is likely to be available owing to Boro's promotion to the Premier League.

With the highly-rated 23-year-old set to cost at least £2m, Wolves would prefer a season-long loan deal.

The Express & Star understands they have already approached Boro to check on his availability.

At 6ft 1in Reach ticks a few boxes in that he can play at left back or his preferred position of left wing.

Reach started 35 times in the Championship for Preston, scoring four goals, but is down the pecking order at the Riverside where he is under contract until 2019.

Wolves will have competition for the former Shrewsbury loanee, with Preston keen to take him back to Deepdale after he became a fans' favourite and impressed boss Simon Grayson.

Reach played three times against Wolves last season – once for Middlesbrough in the League Cup and twice for Preston.

He scored at Molineux and was one of Preston's best performers in their 2-1 win, playing in a floating role behind the striker.

Wolves looked at bringing him to Molineux last September, but the prospect of playing week in, week out at Deepdale swung the deal for Preston.

However with Kenny Jackett looking for a left back and a left winger – and with Jordan Graham and Michal Zyro both out injured – he would likely get plenty of game time with Wolves.
