Michal Zyro earns praise from Kenny Jackett

Polish forward Michal Zyro earned praised from Wolves boss Kenny Jackett after his comeback impact against Bristol City.

Zyro was introduced as a half time substitute, replacing Kevin McDonald to make his first appearance for two months following a calf injury.

And the 23-year-old, who played up front alongside Joe Mason in a re-jigged 4-4-2 formation, played a key role in Wolves' 2-1 victory at Molineux.

Jackett said: "Zyro made a difference with some good touches and got down the side of the defence.

"I felt we needed an extra forward in that phase of the game.

"And we had a good start to the second half.

"We have to be careful with Michal because we haven't got too many options on our front line.

"I want to make sure that when he comes back he stays back because he can be a big player for us.

"I was also very keen to get him in physically around some strong centre halves."

The victory left Wolves 10 points off the play-offs with 10 games to go.

However unlikely a push for the top six may seem, Jackett is keen for Wolves to pick up as many points as possible and see where it takes them.

And after successive 2-1 home wins, Wolves are in better shape going into Sunday's derby with Blues at Molineux.

"We have had two good home wins against Derby and Bristol City," Jackett added..

"We are 12th in the league – halfway – and want to finish the season and these last ten games very strongly.

"We have to work hard to try and establish and develop a new team coming through.

"It is good for the supporters that we can win these home games and hopefully we can start to bounce off each other and build up a really good atmosphere against Birmingham on Sunday.

"If we can put on a good performance hopefully the crowd will follow."
