West Brom's Tom Fellows stance amid reported Southampton 'bid'

Albion are braced for late transfer window interest but have no plans to sell star winger Tom Fellows.

The 21-year-old sensation gave another example of his quality setting up both goals in Saturday's 2-1 win at Stoke and is seen as the club's best asset.

It has been claimed Premier League new boys Southampton have an interest in the Baggies flyer and could be readying a £10million offer prior to Friday night's deadline.

Albion do not wish to sell their star turn, a graduate of the club's academy who shot to prominence in Carlos Corberan's side last season.

The Express & Star understands the club value the youngster at much higher than the fee touted.

Fellows signed a new long-term contract in January that runs until 2027, giving Albion security in terms of the winger's valuation.

Interest in the England under-20 international has previously come from Premier League duo Newcastle and Everton.

Corberan spoke glowingly of the trickster yesterday as he admitted nothing Fellows does on the pitch comes as a surprise to the club.

Fellows already leads the assists ranking in the Championship, having laid on three goals in the first three games.

Corberan is eyeing at least centre-forward competition into his squad before the deadline with a replacement for Brandon Thomas-Asante among Albion's priorities.

It is understood, however, that the club are eyeing up attackers in other roles before the 11pm cut-off at the end of this week.

Preston striker Will Keane and French winger Theo Le Bris, of Lorient, had been of interest earlier in the window but are not moves that will be progressed.
