Alex Palmer

Not a good day for Albion and marks reflect it. Palmer helpless for first and third but might have done better for second. Two decent first-half saves. 5

Darnell Furlong

So good so far this season but, like most, fell well below his level. Unlucky with the own goal but unusually sloppy otherwise. 5

Semi Ajayi

Neither centre-back enjoyed a day to write home about at the heart of defence. Ajayi solid defensively this term but not here. Subbed off just before winner. 5

Kyle Bartley

Like Furlong, Bartley was another to fall from sky-high standards set this season. A few sloppy and ponderous moments and far from as solid as we've come to expect. 5

Torbjorn Heggem

Did OK, best of his side's back four so can take some credit from that. Did finally move into centre late on, though Wednesday netted winner soon afterwards. 6

Ousmane Diakite

A first league start didn't go to plan and lasted just 45 minutes as Albion went 2-0 down. Loose touches, passes and erratic challenges. 5

Uros Racic

Didn't fare much better than partner Diakite. Wanted too much time on the ball. Slow start and couldn't recover. 5

John Swift

Saw more of the ball than some colleagues but couldn't get going with it and lacked quality. 5

Tom Fellows

Really well-marshalled by Marvin Johnson and others throughout but still rose in second half for classy Maja assist. 6

Josh Maja

Possibly his quietest game yet but he cannot stop scoring. Seven in seven is remarkable. Brave header. Otherwise shackled. 6

Karlan Grant

Denied by decent first half save. Worked hard but little impact otherwise and came off. 6

Substitutes

Alex Mowatt (for Diakite, 45) Helped kick his side on significantly 7.

Mikey Johnston (for Racic, 60) 6.

Grady Diangana (for Grant, 60) Did really well for Albion's first through Maja 6.

Jed Wallace (for Fellows, 75) n/a.

Gianluca Frabotta (for Ajayi, 82) n/a.

Subs not used: Wildsmith, Holgate, Molumby, Dobbin.
