West Brom player ratings: High marks aplenty as Baggies respond with superb professional win

Albion deliver professional display to seal crucial win after week of uncertainty.

MAX O’LEARY

Largely untested by the hosts. Had one real save of note to make. Otherwise comfortable with his distribution.

Solid 7

DANNY IMRAY

Continued with his eye-catching form. Some solid challenges stood out but he always looks to get on front foot and make things happen.

Lively 7

NAT PHILLIPS

Has quietly came to the Albion party in the last six weeks and keeps getting better and better. Rock-solid here and used ball well. Threat in box.

Excellent 8

GEORGE CAMPBELL

Remained solid as he has of late alongside Phillips. They have developed an excellent partnership. Campbell was composed here.

Cool 7

CALLUM STYLES

Really excelled here. Has been Albion’s most consistent player all season but was at his best taking the ball on and making things happen from left-back.

Excelled 8

JAYSON MOLUMBY

On right side of midfield again but a key part of the victory as he also moved inside to swarm Preston’s midfield. Brilliant for second goal.

Shift 8

ALEX MOWATT

Retained his place in a recent return to the side and really stepped it up here. This was Mowatt near his best with poise, vision and technical ability.

Dictated 8

OUSMANE DIAKITE

Set such high standards of late and once again was part of a dominant midfield display. Mucked in as ever with all the dirty business. A selfless showing.

Selfless 7

ISAAC PRICE

Perhaps his side’s star man. Price really showed what he can do at his best here. Key to the first goal with wonderful skill. His ability makes things happen, and worked hard.

Creator 8

AUNE HEGGEBO

Not necessarily his day in front of goal but played crucial role in smartly shifting on to Maja for opener. A fighting display as Preston lost battles.

Fighter 7

JOSH MAJA

This was Maja near his best. Outstanding finish for first and almost added impudent second. Involved in Dike strike. Looked right at it throughout.

Sharp 8

Substitutes:

Daryl Dike (for Heggebo, 70) What a moment with the second goal. 8

Karlan Grant (for Maja, 86) n/a

Ollie Bostock (for Price, 89) n/a

Subs not used: Griffiths (gk), Gilchrist, Taylor, Mepham, Bany, Sule.
