Ollie Bostock has been 'itching to get on' and help West Brom and hopes to have his made his mark on new boss

Ollie Bostock hopes his FA Cup heroics caught the eye of new boss Eric Ramsay - having been "itching" to be involved for Albion.

The 18-year-old academy graduate made his mark with a fine assist for Jed Wallace before he sent the winning penalty into the roof of the net in Swansea.

His second-half substitution was just a second senior Baggies appearance for highly-rated Bostock after the winger was forced to kick his heels as an unused sub under sacked boss Ryan Mason.

"Whatever happens - I don't really know what's happening," Bostock said after his winning penalty. "I don't really look at much.

"But I can only do what I can do. I can only control what I can control, and if he wants to play me, then that's good. That's all I can do really."

Bostock enjoyed a lively cameo in his Albion debut at Millwall in early October but has had to bide his time since, while Albion slumped to a worst run away from The Hawthorns for almost a century.

"It's tough to see," Bostock said of watching on. "In my head I'm itching to get on because I feel like I can really help.

"I'm not saying I would have made us not lose those games or anything like that. But when I'm sat down, I think that I can help.

"My dad always says to me it's good learning. I'm learning stuff all the time. I'm learning what works, maybe what doesn't work sometimes. It's always just everything you experience is going to help you in a positive way."

Bostock was ushered in front of the away end, which featured his parents, in Swansea after his match-winning penalty as fans chanted his name. The winger flew into a knee-slide.

He said: "My mum and dad have done a lot of miles to see not a lot of me play football! So it was good for them today to see me on the pitch."

Albion appointed Minnesota's Ramsay's hours after the Cup progress and interim boss James Morrison smiled after the progress: "If he's watching, he'll be thinking it'll be an easy fix!"
