Mikey Johnston is proving people wrong and West Brom are getting the full benefit
There is always excitement surrounding the arrival of a new player as well as hope - hope they can make your side better and have a real impact.

But not even the most optimistic Albion fan will have predicted the impact that Mikey Johnston has made since his arrival on loan from Celtic in January.
Sunday's stunning performance in the second half of the win at Huddersfield was just another example of why Carlos Corberan made the wide man his top priority in the January transfer window.
His signing has, in recent weeks, been having his own goal of the season competition with stunners against Plymouth, Coventry and most recently QPR.
His brace against the Terriers wasn't as stunning as those strikes that have come before, but they were impressive in themselves and show just what he has added to Albion's play-off push.
Johnston's run and awareness for the opener was top drawer and the second was just a show of his skill and finishing ability - to make his run and strike look so effortless.
He has become a firm fans favourite and a firm favourite with his manager. Given what he has been doing on the field, Corberan has been asked repeatedly about Johnston and has taken the opportunity to wax lyrical about the winger.
But it hasn't just been about his moments of magic. It has been about the improvements to his game that maybe both we in the press and the supporters don't pick up on as quickly.
He has praised Johnston for getting to a position where he can defend as well as he can attack, something that is vitally key to the Spaniard's style - and that shows he has very much bought into Corberan is doing at Albion.
One thought I keep getting as the games by go and we see these performances from the loanee is that he looks like he very much has a point to prove - and boy is he proving it.
He arrived at Albion on the back of a little bit of a tough period at Celtic - and where that had been a few harsh words in the press in Scotland and some of those came from his manager Brendan Rodgers.
They were however accompanied with praise regarding how highly he rates Johnston and his ability.
What we also saw after his arrival was criticism from sections of the Celtic fan base about the winger and how he may get on south of the border in the Championship.
And week by week and game by game he just looks like he is wanting to prove those doubters wrong. Well, to be honest, he has already proved them wrong. Six goals in seven matches, and just seven shots to add to that, is some statistic.
Looking at the wider picture, the loan move and the success of it is helping everyone. Johnston is benefitting with regular minutes, Albion are benefitting with his match winning contributions, and I'm sure those up at Celtic Park are delighted with what Johnston is doing ahead of his return at the end of the season.
Albion fans are already calling for his move to be made permanent but that talk is a little premature.
For the time being, we just want him to keep doing what he is doing because he has made an impact well beyond what we all imagined he could.
