Mikey Johnston impressed by West Brom starlet
Mikey Johnston has sensed a growing “confidence” in Albion’s young sensation Tom Fellows since returning to the club permanently from Celtic.

Fellows has started the campaign with three assists in four matches and has translated his glowing form on to the international stage with his maiden goal for England under-21s earlier this week. The 21-year-old emerged from the bench to score England’s fourth goal in a 4-1 demolition of Austria at Luton Town’s Kenilworth Road on Monday night.
Fellows scored five goals and set-up four more in 39 appearances during his breakthrough season at The Hawthorns last term.
Johnston, who rejoined the club from Celtic on a four-year deal last month, has noticed a striking difference in Fellows’ confidence levels since they previously played together last term.
He said: “It’s always nice to see people come through the academy, who is a fan of the club, doing well.
“I’ve seen him find his confidence since I’ve come back in, I’ve seen straight away a bit of a difference in him. Just in terms of his confidence. That’s something you find through games and doing well. I think he wants to be an important player this season and hopefully he can do that.
“Probably at the point he is at, I was starting games at Celtic and trying to find that consistency of playing. I can see similarities in the two of us.”
