Alex Palmer

Made two good saves to keep his side level in the tie to deny Downes and Armstrong, the second outstanding. A real solid presence. 8

Darnell Furlong

Continued his excellent run of form here. Prodded just wide with awkward chance but defensively he kept Manning et al at bay. 8

Kyle Bartley

Another standout performer for the Baggies. Bartley has grown in stature as season has gone on. Again had the armband and repelled everything. 8

Cedric Kipre

Gave a strong display. Few frills but solid defending. Was very good with the ball as Albion played out too. 7

Conor Townsend

Had a tough time of it against Saints’ strong right side but stayed true to the job and gave as good as he got. Dug in. 7

Okay Yokuslu

Grew into the contest and kept hold of the ball well. One of his best physical displays for some time, got around the pitch before tiring. 7

Alex Mowatt

A really good midfield display from one of the side’s key men. A couple of efforts off-target but he moved the ball forward and tried to take game to Saints. 8

Tom Fellows

Drifted in and out a touch but no doubting the quality when he had it. Created both Diangana and Albion’s best two chances. 7

Grady Diangana

Lively and at the centre of most for his side. Great work in build-up to headed chance, will regret tame finish for second effort. Busy. 7

Mikey Johnston

Continued as a breath of fresh air to watch. Took the game to the visitors who did not know how to deal with him. Great willingness to constantly attack. 8

Brandon Thomas-Asante

Got the nod to lead the line instead of Wallace but it wasn’t Thomas-Asante’s day. It didn’t stick with him in the frontline early on and he struggled to grow into it. 6

Substitutes:

Jed Wallace (Thomas-Asante, 82) n/a.

John Swift (Fellows, 82) n/a.

Yann M’Vila (Johnston, 82) n/a.

Semi Ajayi (Yokuslu, 82) n/a.

Adam Reach (Townsend, 90+1) n/a.
