Former Albion defender Krystian Bielik became embroiled in controversy for new club Cardiff City after an altercation with a young Portsmouth supporter.
The incident occurred in the second half of hosts Portsmouth’s 2-0 victory over Bielik’s Bluebirds at Fratton Park on Saturday afternoon.
Polish defender Bielik, 28, appeared to react to a young Portsmouth supporter in the front row of a stand after the home fan threw the ball away.
Bielik had approached the fans at Fratton Park to retrieve the ball quickly take a throw-in with his side trailing.
But footage shows a young home fan throw the ball away from Bielik, and the defender react by appearing to put his arm towards the young fan’s face. The home supporter then seemingly slaps out in response.
As of Sunday it is claimed the Football Association are ‘aware’ of the incident and will review the officials’ report.

It has been reported the young Portsmouth fan and his family were asked to leave following the incident. Referee Ben Speedie held talks with both sets of managers, Cardiff boss Brian Barry-Murphy and Pompey’s John Mousinho, after the coming together.
Bielik was not punished by referee Speedie.
Bluebirds chief Barry-Murphy was wary of a reaction to his player from a supporter and praised how the referee handled the situation. He said afterwards he was assured the “correct processes” had taken place and expects similar from the Football Association.
There have been calls on social media for Bielik to have been punished for the incident.
Cardiff went on to lose 2-0 in Hampshire. Bielik joined the south Wales club in a £2.5million move from Albion after just one season at The Hawthorns towards the end of August.
