Baggies loan star Sarmiento is yet to start under Corberan as he initially built up his fitness at The Hawthorns.

Corberan subsequently said the winger is physically ready to be included from the off but he still awaits a first start. The Brighton starlet, an Ecuadorian international, scored late on against Middlesbrough from the bench, but Corberan said after Albion's defeat to Huddersfield he expects to see a more consistent work-rate.

"If I was to evaluate him, the level of minutes that he played against Huddersfield, he showed that he still has problems to manage the minutes of the game," Corberan explained.

"After making an important action, he needed a lot of time to make the second one. That's why he was suffering in some points.

"I've communicated with him, but sometimes in the first XI it's different and you can manage better the minutes.

"Let's see how he keeps progressing, but I think right now he is making the impact that we want. He scored a goal in one game and then on Saturday he created a dangerous opportunity. In football you need top players in the first XI and top players from the bench

."

Fellow Baggies winger Grady Diangana played his first football in more than six months late on against Huddersfield.

"We lost him in the game against Middlesbrough from last season in February, and always it's important to recover the players who can make a difference, without any kind of doubt," the head coach added. "Like Sarmiento, I think the more they play the more ready they are for more minutes and you need to evaluate the players, how they arrive to the game tactically, mentally

."
