Eric Ramsay notes 'overlooked' West Brom challenge he hopes to recover from

Ramsay said of the returnees making a difference "Yes - and we haven't talked about that in too much depth.

"But it's been a very obvious problem that has probably been overlooked amid a lot of the other stuff that's gone on.

"I think to have those two back, to have Alex on the bench, to feel like you've got some depth in there is really important.

"Given their physical status, those two did really well."

Diakite showed admirable mental courage to return swiftly from family tragedy and impress in the improved draw at Derby. Molumby shook off a calf issue to also play 90 minutes, with Mowatt an unused substitute and returning to fitness.

The Baggies won the midfield battle against the Rams but had to rely on Chris Mepham's last-gasp equaliser.

Ramsay had previously had to select centre-back Krystian Bielik and left-back Callum Styles in midfield.

"I honestly have sensed no lack of care since I've been here," Ramsay said on his squad's response.

"It's a really professional, honest group of players that want to do better. And I have to help the group do better, find a way of helping the group do better.

"I think the tone of the last few days (before Derby) really helped because that is something I will bring to the table in these situations, a calmness and a constructiveness that will hopefully help us move forward."
