Three wins from four games has propelled Albion into the position as one of the early Championship pace setters.

And the feeling among the fan base has also been injected with an extra bit of belief because of how the transfer window ended, with the spectacular late permanent signing of Mikey Johnston.

The loan hero returned for £3 million, as the tenth summer signing, shortly followed by the unexpected arrival of defender Mason Holgate.

It capped off what has been a pretty remarkable summer of business for Albion.

But it hasn't always been plain sailing across the transfer window, and there have been periods where there were concerns about what sort of squad Albion would have to tackle the new campaign.

Across the window, the mood among the fan base has been, at times up and down, and at different stages of the summer there have been moments where the belief has lifted and then slipped again.

After a raft of players exited at the end of last season, Albion supporters were excited about what lay ahead, as Torbjorn Heggem and Ousmane Diakete, two unknown foreign signings arrived.

Joe Wildsmith, Devante Cole and Paddy McNair were the next three through the door, before a bit of a lull heading into the final friendlies of pre-season.

At that point there were a few concerns over where the next additions were going to come from.

Then when three key first team regulars were sold within the space of a week, which was followed by a 4-1 pre-season hammering at Birmingham City, it was alarming for some.

Even Carlos Corberan described the situation as one of the toughest he faced in football.

But it seems since then, everything surrounding Albion both on and off the pitch has almost interlinked and led to the current feeling around the club.

Gianluca Frabotta and Lewis Dobbin arrived, before that superb opening day at QPR.

Then came Uros Racic and Callum Styles, either side of the away win over Stoke City, and with the early season optimism already on an upward trajectory, it has taken an even bigger boost over the last week.

That deadline day double signing was followed up with a blistering performance in the first half of the 1-0 win over Swansea.

And now the mood around the club could not be further away from where it was six to eight weeks ago.

It seems the drip feeding of signings throughout the summer, coupled with the sensational start to the season has all culminated with supporters and players alike having a renewed, upbeat feeling for the future.

Even Corberan himself has said he is excited to see what this Albion squad can do.

And the most exciting part about everything is that although they have looked very good so far, it seems like there is much, much more to come from the new Albion.
