Mark Miles expecting ‘good interest’ in West Brom as club search for investment
Mark Miles expects “good interest” in Albion as the club search for new investment or ownership.

Chairman and controlling shareholder Guochuan Lai, through WBA Group director Xu Ke (Ken), is looking for either partial investment or a full sale of the club.
Managing director Miles explained that under-fire absent businessman Lai is well aware of the frustration and unrest among Albion supporters and protests against his ownership.
Miles, who assumed Ron Gourlay’s chief executive duties this summer, is not involved in investment or sale, where negotiations take place at Group level, but expects no shortage of interest.
“Obviously any discussion would happen at Group level and being a director of club it’s difficult, but we’re a big football club, a club that’s been in the Premier League for a number of years,” he said.
“I would be surprised if there wasn’t good interest from a number of parties in the club.”
On a time-frame for any investment in the club to stave of further fears, Miles added: “No, we just continue to operate. I work on the basis there is no investment and continue to work on an even keel as we do. There’s no timescales on that side. Lai is open to the idea, that could be next week, next month, three months, I don’t know.
The managing director, who is in regular contact with Lai through Ken, said: “He (Lai) knows the current situation and how the supporter base feels, yes.
“Obviously market’s have changed, he bought the club on a self-sustaining bases and now we’re out of that it’s a different position.
“He’s aware of the discontent among supporters but it’s my role to talk to those, to make sure things are spoken about, and I’ll pass it upwards as well.
“It’s not just me talking with supporters, it’s taking things up.”
