Albion have won eight of their last nine league games on the road, but haven't won any of their last four home matches in the Championship.

They welcome Sheffield United to The Hawthorns tonight for a massive six-pointer in the race for the top two.

There were a smattering boos at half-time of the last home game, which Albion drew 2-2 with Nottingham Forest.

But Moore says he’s trying to build a team fans will love, and has delivered a rallying cry ahead of this weekend's match.

“My message has been consistent from day one,” he said. “What I’m trying to do, and what I believe in, is bringing in some football that makes the fans proud.

“A team that shows passion for the shirt and the club, and a committed group of players, because the commitment is there from the supporters.

“There’s going to be changes, we’re going to have to be patient, you’re going to have to stay with us and show that level of understanding. “

Albion have made a series of individual errors at home in recent weeks that have led to opposition goals, but Moore believes his approach is necessary against stubborn opposition.

“I feel it’s right for the players we’ve got at the club,” he said. “We need to buy into their qualities.

“What we’ve got to remember is you’ve got teams coming here that will try to stop us from doing what we want to do.

“They (the fans) cannot and should not get frustrated, it should be a feather in the cap to think that’s what they (opposing teams) are doing.

“Is your cup half-full or half-empty? Certainly for me it’s half-full and it always will be because that’s the way I look at it and see it.

“That’s why the supporters here have a huge responsibility to get behind the team. Together as one we’re a formidable football club.

“The frustrations, they’ve got to leave, because their job is to come and support the team.

“When they are in full voice there’s no better place to come and play.

“I can say that because I’ve been a player here and enjoyed successful campaigns here.”

Albion have enjoyed more sell-outs at The Hawthorns in recent weeks than the last few years combined, and Moore outlined how important a positive atmosphere at home is for his players.

“It’s great for me to see The Hawthorns when it’s full," said Moore. “It’s heard and felt by the players when they are in full voice.

“That’s what’s kept the boys going when we have been behind here.

“They’ve kept the boys going and we’ve salvaged points out of it. I love being back at The Hawthorns. And I look forward to seeing all the fans.

“Let’s get this house packed again and try to make it another memorable evening for the football club.”
