The England under-19 international will link-up with the Championship club following the international break.

Baggies boss Tony Pulis believes the move will key to 18-year-old Leko’s development.

“We need to get Jonathon out playing League football and at Championship level this is a great opportunity for him,” said Pulis.

Leko has been on Albion’s books at the age of 11 and made his Premier League bow aged just 16 back in September 2015.

He signed his first professional contract the following summer, agreeing a three-year deal, and spent much of last season as part of the club’s first-team squad, making nine Premier League appearances from the bench.

Last week’s £15million capture of Oliver Burke from RB Leipzig has allowed Leko to go out on loan.

Robins boss Lee Johnson said: "We are always on the look out for quality and Jonathan has that. He also brings genuine pace and versatility in the forward areas.

"Thanks to Tony Pulis and West Brom for allowing the deal to happen.

"It's now up to Jonathan to work hard for the team and express his talent in a City shirt."
