Watch Guochuan Lai's first West Brom interview...promising a free scarf and a drink for Albion fans

Guochuan Lai has given his first West Brom interview since taking over at the Hawthorns - and has a promised a free scarf for away fans and a free pint for home fans!

In the four minute interview, Lai talks passionately about the rich history of the club and offers his thanks to departed chairman Jeremy Peace.

The lifelong football fan has vowed to continue the stability of the management, coaching team and playing squad.

Lai has also identified commercial opportunities for the club in China and is keen to enhance the financial success of the club moving forward.

The 42-year-old also confirmed that all transfer dealings will be dealt with by incoming chairman John Williams.

Lai is chief shareholder in Yunyi Guokai Sports, a new company focused on the sports industry which was formed to complete the takeover.

Lai built his career developing Palm Eco-Town Development Company into China's largest landscape design and construction business.

Palm is listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange with a market capitalisation of £1.8billion. It generated revenue of £500m in 2015.

Guochuan will remain based in China to stay with his family and manage his business interests in the Far East.

John Williams will oversee the day-to-day running of the club.
