The teenager scored his first goal for Lincoln City in a 2-0 win over Newcastle Under-21s last season.

He has made a positive start to life at Bescot – following up two assists with his maiden EFL goal in Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Crewe Alexandra.

And Draper is now looking forward to further underlining his credentials against Brighton Under-21s tonight.

Draper said: “This is a good competition. It helped when I was a young player at Lincoln to get into the side and score goals.

“It’s not only that but it gives you the chance to show yourself and prove that you should be in the team.

“These competitions can help you become a regular or help you keep your place so it’s really beneficial.”
