Goalkeeper coach Dan Still and the academy staff are working to find a suitable club for Barrett.

Meanwhile, Sadler feels there will be opportunities for Thomas in the EFL Cup and EFL Trophy games this month, but is still keen to find him first team football elsewhere once he is satisfied with the options in his squad.

He said: "Dylan not just yet. There was something that came up for him but I can't let him go out just yet with games set to come thick and fast.

"Similar with George although we don't need three goalkeepers at once so we're certainly looking for him to get some structured game time somewhere.

"What we're trying to do is similar to how other clubs are looking in terms of players they'll let out to us.

"It's exactly the same in terms of how the top filters down to the bottom. That's what is happening with Dylan. We don't want to leave ourselves short just yet.

"Clearly Dylan's development is at the forefront of my mind but as it stands with the EFL Trophy and the League Cup games, there will be ample opportunities for that development to continue
