Walsall youngster Archie Bunn scores halfway line stunner for under-18s

Walsall youngster Archie Bunn scored a sensational goal from the halfway line for the under-18s last weekend.

The 17-year-old had pulled it back to 2-2 with a showpiece strike on the cusp of half-time and bagged his brace in the second half during a 4-3 defeat against Oldham Athletic in the EFL Youth Alliance.

Bunn has previous form when it comes to scoring from distance after producing a magnificent 40-yard half-volley in a 5-1 win over Morecambe in December.

The midfielder joined the Saddlers’ youth ranks from Stoke City at under-16 level and was handed his first year scholarship last summer.

In total, Bunn has scored three goals for the under-18s this term - who sit 20th in the EFL Youth Alliance.

Academy prospect Stan Straw signed his first professional contract earlier this week after making five senior appearances in the EFL Trophy.
