The Saddlers have collected seven points from a possible nine on home soil – defeating Stockport County and Colchester United respectively, and drawing against Grimsby Town.

And Mat Sadler insists he is aware of how important home form will be if they want to be successful in League Two.

“We desperately do (want to extend our unbeaten home run). What is most important, is that we send those supporters home happy week in, week out,” Sadler said.

“Any successful team will need to have a good home record. That goes without saying and we are all aware of that.

“But we know it is going to be tough at times. It’s not going to be plain sailing and we are certainly not going to win every game 5-0.

“So, there are going to be some really tough moments that our supporters can have a key impact on.

“The tough moments are probably the times we need them most. I just urge for everyone to stick with us because I’ve got players that can upset games at different times, and we want to be on the front foot for sure.”

Wimbledon are yet to taste defeat on the road in League Two, beating Colchester and Sutton, and drawing with Grimsby and Newport. James Tilley is the biggest danger man in Wimbledon’s armoury with the forward registering a formidable total of seven goals in eight league appearances.

Sadler continued with a back three for Walsall’s 2-0 defeat at Swindon in the wake of Chris Hussey’s retirement last week.

Tom Knowles’ suspension could open up the chance to revert to a four-man defence, and Sadler admits that he has designed his squad to provide him with the ability to adjust in games. “Possibly (we could play with a back four). Taylor has done well there and he looks really assured and comfortable. He has got good distribution,” he explained.

“He has done well first and foremost in that left of a back three slot and I can see him growing into it.

“But what I’ve recruited, if I wanted to go to a back four, then I can. And I want to be able to change and adjust in games so there is the ability to do that in games.”

Knowles will serve his one-match suspension after receiving two yellow cards in the defeat at Swindon.

Sadler also issued updates on Rollin Menayese, Brandon Comley and Jack Earing.

“Jack [Earing] and Brandon [Comley] are still working there way back,” he revealed.

“Brandon maybe another month away potentially so another three or four weeks. Jack is still maybe another six to eight weeks.

“Rollin is still working towards his fitness but again we’re probably looking at another month or so with him.”
