Walsall players "need to step up to the plate" after winless run - Aden Flint
Walsall defender Aden Flint says the players "need to step up to the plate" to put a stop to their five-match winless run.
The Saddlers suffered back-to-back defeats against Bristol Rovers and Barnet in the League Two over the past week.
And a run of just one win in eight games has seen them plummet from the league summit into seventh - just one point clear of Chesterfield in eighth.
"If I could tell you that then I'd tell you, but I can't put my finger on it," Flint replied when asked why form has dropped so drastically.
"It happens in football and it has gone on longer than we would've like to.
"I guess it's the old cliche of resetting and working hard on the training pitch - of course it is.
"But we need to step up to the plate, showing grit and determination, being men and start winning football matches again."

The 3-1 setback at Barnet prompted calls for Mat Sadler to be sacked, as pressure continues to intensify on his managerial hotseat.
Sadler refused to be drawn into any speculation surrounding his future but was subject to chants from the stands, both at various points during the second half, and at full-time.
Walsall will have an 11-day gap before they travel to Grimsby Town on February 18, which Flint has coined as a "massive game".
"There's no positives at the minute with the run we're on and the result," he added.
"Me personally, I wish I had another game on Tuesday to put it right.
"We've got a 11-day break now until we play Grimsby away and 16 massive games, and is starts with Grimsby.
"It's a huge game now, we need to stop the rot, get a result and start winning football matches sooner rather than later."
