Walsall player ratings: Low scores all-round after Bristol Rovers loss

George Bennett gives his Walsall player ratings from their 2-0 defeat against Bristol Rovers at the Memorial Stadium in League Two.

MYLES ROBERTS

Powerless to prevent both goals. Twice denied Shaq Forde and produced another smart stop to thwart Jack Sparkes. Unconvincing with a couple of his punch outs.

Good: 6

PRIESTLEY FARQUHARSON

Asserted his physicality to keep pushing Rovers back in the first half, although he was beaten in the air prior to the second goal.

Physical: 6

ADEN FLINT

Less involved in the heart of the action as he usually is, but set-up a chance for Mason Hancock late on with an excellent cross-field ball.

Quiet: 6

HARRISON BURKE

Produced a very disciplined performance for the first hour but went off the boil as he lost Yusuf Akhamrich for the opener.

Faded: 6

ALFIE CHANG

Tidy in possession overall but was perhaps guilty of being a little too conservative with his passes at times.

Conservative: 5

CONNOR BARRETT

Had the beating of his man on a couple of occasions but lacked the bravery to bring his attacking qualities to the fore more regularly.

Reserved: 5

COURTNEY CLARKE

Covered plenty of ground and attempted to create overloads on the left, but it never clicked for him in the final third.

Never clicked: 5

ALEX PATTISON

First touch let him down at times although he did at least endeavour to drive forward with the ball.

Loose: 5

MASON HANCOCK

Dug in defensively and carried a threat going forward, but was not quite able to get his delivery right on the night.

Frustrating: 6

ALBERT ADOMAH

Fresh from his comeback heroics at Chesterfield, the 38-year-old was unable to repeat the feat. Showed his quality in glimpses, but his impact was limited.

Glimpses: 5

DANIEL KANU

A rare off night. Constantly lost the ball on the half-turn, was wasteful albeit with limited chances and was pickpocketed for Rovers' opener.

Off night: 4

Subs

Charlie Lakin (for Chang, 66) - 6

At least attempted to drive forward and stung the palms of Brad Young from distance.

Rico Richards (for Clarke, 66) - 6

A couple of smart turns but only showcased his qualities in flashes.

Aaron Pressley (for Adomah, 66) - 5

Clearly struggling for him and recent injuries have not helped him in his quest to rediscover it.

Unused: Hornby, Weir, Comley, Loupalo-Bi.
