Walsall player ratings as two get 4 and another gets 8 in Chesterfield draw

George Bennett gives his Walsall player ratings from their 2-2 draw against Chesterfield at the SMH Group Stadium in League Two.

MYLES ROBERTS

Did his best to keep out Will Grigg who scored from the rebound and produced a pair of outstanding saves to deny Lee Bonis.

Key: 7

HARRISON BURKE

Made his first league appearance in four months and won the majority of his duels on a busy afternoon for the young defender.

Solid: 6

ADEN FLINT

A lot tidier in his distribution - especially in the second half - and looked a lot more like his usual self.

Tidier: 6

EVAN WEIR

Dawdled on the ball and was pickpocketed by Dilan Markanday who went on to score, although his free-kick led to the equaliser.

Challenging: 4

ALFIE CHANG

The new signing was outbattled in the first half on his 'second debut' but rose to the challenge with a much more assured performance after the break.

Return: 6

CONNOR BARRETT

Sat off Tom Pearce in the build-up to the opening goal but looked a threat going forward as he set-up Daniel Kanu to score.

Threat: 7

COURTNEY CLARKE

Lost all of his nine duels and had a quiet afternoon by his standards after switching to midfield.

Passive: 5

ALEX PATTISON

Bypassed regularly in the first half but linked the play well and created dangerous overloads once Albert Adomah was introduced.

Link: 6

VINCENT HARPER

Had his work cut out against Markanday in the first half but got the better of him in an improved second half display.

Grew: 6

JAMILLE MATT

Looked a yard behind in the press and was wasteful in front of goal as a hip issue forced him off at the interval.

Forced off: 4

DANIEL KANU

Never tired chasing lost causes and reaped the reward when he halved the deficit and set-up the equaliser for Albert Adomah.

Decisive: 7

Subs

ALBERT ADOMAH (for Matt, 45)

Crucial following his half-time introduction. Constantly dragged Walsall forward and rescued a point with the all-important equaliser.

Evergreen: 8

CHARLIE LAKIN (for Chang, 72)

JAMIE JELLIS (for Adomah, 81)

BRANDON COMLEY (for Clarke, 90)

AARON LOUPALO-BI (for Kanu, 90)

Unused: Hornby, Farquharson.
