Walsall saw their three-match winning streak come to an end in their 3-1 defeat at league leaders Stockport County on Saturday.

James-Taylor scored in back-to-back league games for the first time in his career, and believes seeing the bigger picture will benefit Walsall more in the future rather than judging each individual result.

The striker said: “We can’t have the outlook where we judge everything based on a result and it’s all about performances.

“I am sure you hear with lots of successful teams that it’s all about the performance and it’s all about seeing the bigger picture.

“Learning to not judge each result whether we win, lose or draw, staying the same, having the same goals and improving every week.

“Those same values we keep no matter what happens.”
