Walsall learn their Carabao Cup opponents as first round draw confirmed
The draw for the Carabao Cup first round has been completed.
Walsall will travel to Championship outfit Bristol City in the first round of the Carabao Cup.
The first round will kick-off the new season under new head coach Lee Grant with ties set to be played over the weekend of August 7-9.
The Saddlers bowed out in the first round last season, after losing on penalties at Championship side Stoke City following a goalless draw.
They did reach the third round for the first time in nine years under Mat Sadler in 2024-25, before losing again on spot-kicks to then Premier League outfit Leicester City.
