Walsall injury news: Richard Keogh explains Roman Dixon's absence
Walsall have issued an update on Roman Dixon’s recent absence.
Richard Keogh has confirmed that Walsall full-back Roman Dixon has missed the past two games with a knock.
The 24-year-old, who joined Walsall earlier this summer, made his debut as a half-time substitute during their 3-0 opening day win at Gillingham on August 15.
Dixon has not been involved in the match day squad for either of the goalless stalemates against Grimsby Town and Leyton Orient respectively in the past week.
“Nothing too major” - Dixon absence explained
Although Walsall assistant Keogh did not divulge the nature of the injury, he does not believe it to be serious and expects him to return to action soon.
“Roman is good. He picked up a slight knock, but it’s nothing too major,” Keogh revealed.
“I think the manager spoke about it before that we just want to be cautious [with injuries].

“But Roman is OK. He’s getting along nicely and it was probably disappointing for him really with the knock.
“We expect to see him back pretty soon though.”
He continued: “It was just a little bit of tightness really and it was something that we didn’t really want to risk him with.
“Like I say, he has been doing a little bit on the grass and we’re hoping to have him back pretty soon.”
Former Everton academy product Dixon was introduced at right-back on his debut, before switching over to the left for the latter stages.
Elicha Ahui started on the right against Grimsby and was replaced by Rico Browne for the midweek cup exit at the hands of Leyton Orient.
Meanwhile, Mason Hancock recovered from his knock to figure on the left against Grimsby, as latest signing James Furlong started on his Walsall debut on Tuesday.
