The teenager came in for the injured Priestley Farquharson and produced an impressive display to keep former Saddlers striker Andy Cook quiet in open play.

Now, Williams wants to consistently rise to the challenge against the best attackers in the division.

Williams said: “We had done our analysis through the week. I’d never played against him (Cook) myself but Donervon (Daniels) has given me tips on what he is good at, and what his strengths are.

“Early on, I tried to get in and around him. It suited me the way they (Bradford) played and I dealt with it well.

“Playing against a striker of his calibre in this league, I did well, but ultimately I’ve got to rise to the challenge when it comes around again.”
