Walsall loanee Kacper Lopata passed fit, as Jamille Matt "fights" to be involved for Grimsby clash
Walsall defender Kacper Lopata has been passed fit for their trip to Grimsby Town on Wednesday, although club captain Jamille Matt will still be fighting to be involved.
Lopata has not featured since making his debut as a late substitute during the Saddlers' 3-1 win at Tranmere Rovers on January 17.
The Pole, who is on loan from League One side Barnsley, has been side lined with a thigh issue for the past three weeks, but has trained in full ahead of their visit to Blundell Park.
Lopata ruled fit for Grimsby
"Kacper is training and he will be fit and available for Wednesday night," Sadler said.
"I'm very pleased with the defensive options that we've got, but Kacper adds another layer to that.
"We'll certainly look forward to using that again as and when."
Captain Matt "fighting" to be involved
Matt has missed the past two games with a hip problem which forced him off during the 2-2 draw at Chesterfield on January 31.
Sadler has also revealed that the 36-year-old has been nursing a separate knee issue in recent weeks.
He has since undergone a scan and received an injection on the injury, as he fights to be fit for the Grimsby clash, or the home fixture against MK Dons on Monday next week.
"Jamille is fighting to be fit fit and trying to get out there for the game on Wednesday," he added.
"And he had an injection in his knee a few days ago, which hopefully has settled everything down.
"He had a scan and that came back where he just needed a bit of an injection in there.
"So we're all positive on that front. He'll be fighting to be fit for Wednesday, and if not, then on Monday."
Experienced frontman Matt has made 28 appearances for Walsall in all competitions this season, scoring three goals.
