Walsall held out for a hard-fought victory to remain top of the League Two tree, clear by a point, and go unbeaten in six league games.

Myles Roberts
Looked safe and composed when called upon, confidently claiming several crosses and punching clear of danger. A steady presence who dealt well with everything that came his way.

Evan Weir
Defended superbly alongside his back line teammates, limiting Crewe to few clear chances. Read the game well and played a key role in seeing off a late attacking surge.

Aden Flint
An absolute rock at the back and Walsall’s defensive hero. Made countless clearances, dominated aerially, and produced a vital early goal-line clearance to keep his side level.
Colossal, 8
Rico Browne
Active and confident in possession, looking to make things happen from the back. Combined solid defensive work with a willingness to drive forward and help Walsall build attacks.

Connor Barrett
Caused problems down the right with well-delivered crosses and intelligent movement. Balanced his attacking intent with strong defensive work to nullify Crewe’s threat on his flank.

Worked tirelessly in midfield, pressing aggressively and battling for every ball. Helped set the tempo for Walsall, breaking up play and driving the team forward with energy.
