Walsall's Jamie Jellis pushing for an opportunity
Walsall boss Mat Sadler has revealed Jamie Jellis is beginning to “force” his hand with his performances in training.
Jellis joined Walsall from National League North outfit Tamworth in January on an 18-month deal, but is yet to play a single minute.
The midfielder, who scored four goals in 27 appearances for the Lambs, suffered a hamstring injury in his final game for his former club, which forced him to miss six games for the Saddlers.
Sadler then confirmed after the win at Harrogate Town in late-February that he wanted to ease Jellis into full-time football again.
His only involvement in a match day squad has been as an unused substitute in Walsall’s 1-1 draw with Barrow last month.
When asked if Jellis could be given a chance, Sadler said: “I’d like to think so. Jamie trained really well yesterday.
“He’s probably getting to the point where he wants to force my hand as well.”
