Midfielders Liam Kinsella and Sam Perry have been voted as player and young player of the season by Walsall supporters.

The annual vote organised by Walsall Supporters' Trust saw Kinsella top the bill for player of the year for his consistent and battling performances in the middle of the park.

The former academy graduate will be presented with the Robert Sadler Shield, a replica keepsake and £200 in travel vouchers from Co-op Travel.

Kinsella picked up 49 per cent of the votes as striker Elijah Adebayo, who was sold to Luton in January, came third and Rory Holden came second.

Meanwhile, Perry has picked up the young player of the season award.

The 19-year-old has been a revelation since head coach Brian Dutton brought him into the side in the second half of the season.

He has regularly partnered Kinsella in midfield in recent weeks and has become a key member of the squad.

Perry earned 80 per cent of the votes from the Saddlers fans and will also receive a keepsake shield and £100 in Co-op Travel vouchers.

Villa loanee Tyreik Wright came third and Alfie Bates came second.
