Walsall's Luke Pearce leaves for Southampton
Walsall academy striker Luke Pearce has left for Premier League side Southampton.
The 16-year-old made an impression on manager Darrell Clarke last season, regularly training with the first team while putting in impressive performances with the development squad.
Pearce was an un-used substitute against Chelsea under-21s in the EFL Trophy in December and he was set to be named on the bench against Stevenage in a league game in February before the match was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
Now, he has departed the Banks's Stadium after the two clubs 'reached a compensation agreement'.
