The Saddlers boss held his pre-match press conference ahead of the Saddlers clash with Blackpool this morning.

And the boss revealed he is still working on bringing players ahead of today’s 5pm deadline – with a centre-back the number one priority.

“I have openly said I want to add another centre-half,” Keates said.

“I’d like to think there will be an addition there and maybe one or two elsewhere.

“It’s could go right to the wire. There is one I have been after for some weeks, one I have been chipping away at.

“If that doesn’t happen there are options to go elsewhere.

“Centre-back is the only position we haven’t got cover for. It’s something that needs addressing and something that will be addressed.”
