Walsall trio declared fit for Bradford trip

Walsall manager Dean Smith has been handed a triple boost ahead of the trip to Bradford with Tom Bradshaw, James Chambers and Anthony Forde all fit.

Top scorer Bradshaw and defender Chambers have missed the last three games with hamstring problems, while Forde sat out last Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Port Vale with a groin strain.

But having trained all week, all three are ready to take their place in the squad for the journey to Valley Parade on Saturday.

Meanwhile Smith is continuing to run the rule over defender David Atkinson, who is on trial from Middlesbrough.

The 21-year-old played for the reserves in yesterday's 2-1 win at Shrewsbury, but is unlikely to be making a move to the Banks's Stadium this season.

Smith said: "It is just one we can have a look at with regards maybe for next season and it gives us an opportunity to bring somebody in the building who we can look at close at hand.

"He has been on the bench a number of times for Middlesbrough. He has come here and his attitude has been excellent."

He went on: "We are having a look at him for a couple of weeks. I know the people at Middlesbrough. I spoke to Steve Agnew last week and Dave Parnaby.

"He is someone they have thought highly of, but has not quite burst onto the first team scene as they would have liked.

"It gives us an opportunity to have a look at him and we will relay back to them on how he does."
