Mat Sadler today admitted Walsall's survival battle has taken its toll but insisted they can improve next season.

The left-back revealed he is mentally drained after the Saddlers beat the League One drop with a game to spare. And after guaranteeing their safety former Birmingham ace Sadler said he had been left exhausted by the experience.
"Mentally it's extremely draining, so we'l be looking to make a push next season," he said, as the 19th- placed Saddlers ended their season at MK Dons today.
"It's going to be interesting to see what the gaffer does during the summer. It'll be a wide open league next season and there's no reason why, with the right additions to the squad, we can't be challenging up there. We've got a good set of lads here."
