Fierce foes hit the road as Stourbridge and Halesowen travel

No strangers to a Cup run, Stourbridge are hoping their trip to Highgate United is just the start of another lengthy, lucrative spell in the competition.

Gary Hackett’s side have reached the proper rounds two times over the past three seasons – famously travelling to Wycombe Wanderers in the third round in 2016/17, losing 2-1. They also beat Northampton at the War Memorial Ground that term.

Highgate are two divisions below the Glassboys so the visitors are the massive favourites to come out on top. No.9 Derby rivals Halesowen Town are also on the road. John Hill’s men are going over to Matlock Town, who play in the Northern Premier – step three of non-league, the same as the Southern League Central which the Yeltz are in. Halesowen, who have former Albion striker Lee Hughes and ex-Wolves goal-getter Sylvan Ebanks-Blake in their ranks, crashed out at this stage last year, losing 3-0 to Basford United.

Meanwhile, in National League North, Kidderminster Harriers welcome Blyth Spartans to Aggborough. Neil MacFarlane’s Harriers are unbeaten after seven games.
