The Yeltz trailed 4-0 inside 25 minutes and were 5-0 behind before Lewis Ison got a goal back on the stroke of half-time.

Penn’s side are now 11th in the Southern Central Premier, having won just one of their last six matches in all competitions.

Asked to sum up his feelings after, the boss said: “Embarrassing.

“I want to say sorry to the fans, who have turned out in numbers - really apologise to them tonight - but I take full responsibility, as I always will.

“The players can hide behind me all they like, the club can hide behind me - I’m just gutted for the fans tonight.”

He added: “It’s one of those nights you want to forget very quickly - it’s not a night I want to have to my name, but unfortunately will go down as one of those.”

Elsewhere in the division, Rushall Olympic overcame Leamington 3-1 thanks to goals from Todd Alcock, Carter Lycett and Kaiman Anderson.

That lifted the Pics to fourth in the table - five points behind leaders Real Bedford.

Stourbridge’s clash with Anstey Nomads was postponed because of Anstey being in FA Cup action.

Stafford Rangers’ trip to Bootle in Northern One West will also have to be rearranged because of Boro’s FA Cup replay.
